The co-founder of the La Colombe coffee brand will explain how the secret to his successful business was using strict ethical and sustainable guidelines.
On March 30, 2012, we will be hosting our sixth annual PSFK CONFERENCE NYC celebrating and sharing new ideas. Since 2007, the PSFK conference series has catered to creative professionals from around the world, exploring the latest trends, inspirations, and ideas. Joining us as a speaker at the conference will be explorer, writer and Co-Founder of the La Colombe Torrefaction coffee brand, Todd Carmichael. Over the past 18 years he has been innovative in the business of coffee, sustainably gathering the best beans from growers in developing countries and building La Colombe into the country’s leading coffee roaster. At the conference, Todd will talk about how he built his successful business and chain of coffee shops, using strict ethical and sustainable guidelines.
A passionate crusader for social and ecological causes, Carmichael has a decade-long history of undertaking self-supported treks into challenging environments. He’s visited nearly half the world’s countries, crossed large parts of the Sahara on foot, and was the first American to solo trek across Antarctica from coast to the South Pole. The Antarctic trek also earned Todd the world speed record for crossing the continent by foot – 39 days, 7 hours and 49 minutes.
