A new study has found that America’s manufacturing sector is leading the country’s economic recovery, thanks to new technologies, software, innovation and lower energy costs. Value Added: America’s Manufacturing Future by Michael Lind and Joshu Freedman of the New America Foundation, reports that over 342,000 jobs have been added in this sector over the last 2 years, with manufactured goods now accounting for 53% of all American exports. The authors believe that American manufacturing will continue to play a central role in the country’s economy in the future.
