Vodafone collaborates with a U.K. designer to create a rechargeable handbag that allows you to juice up smartphones anytime, anywhere.
UK designer Richard Nicoll and communications giant Vodafone have teamed up to create a new handbag that charges the user’s smartphones on-the-go.
Introduced at London Fashion Week earlier this month, the handbag merges fashion with technology, incorporating an inductive charging cable that attaches to the outside of the bag. Available for BlackBerry, iPhone and Android devices, the handbag can be charged at home or at work and later can charge handsets and tablets for at least two days via a retractable cable installed in the bag’s pocket. Additionally, an external LED light on the bag flashes to indicate incoming calls, phone notifications, and battery life. Price and availability of this innovative handbag has yet to be determined.
