Designer Lucy McRae is refashioning the architecture of the human body with her machine clothing creations.
The creation of new experiences by blending the use of technology and our bodies is a field of study that fascinates the multitude, from artists to fashion designers. Designer Lucy McRae, is captivated by how the human body can be shaped by technology. As an artist she is constantly inventing and building structures on the skin that reshape the human silhouette.
Lucy is inspired by provocative and often grotesquely beautiful imagery that suggests a new human species existing in an alternate world. In this video, she shows her visually stunning ideas: from wearable textiles that recreate the body’s fluids for a music video with the pop star Robyn, to a pill that, when swallowed, lets you sweat edible perfume.
