Social Discovery Platform Tailors Offers Based On Wants & Haves [Future Of Retail]

Online electronics retailer connects consumers who want products to consumers who have those products for peer reviews, advice and recommendations.

Our latest Future Of Retail Report looks at the trend of Auto-Curated Shopping. One manifestation of this theme is Curisma – an online platform that helps people discover new electronics by tailoring recommendations based on what devices the shopper wants and already owns.

After signing up, users are asked to customize their profiles by sorting electronics into one of two categories: ‘Want’ or ‘Have.’ Curisma then curates a selection of electronics and gear based on this data. To further broaden their exposure to the latest releases, members can also subscribe to a feed of like-minded consumers, giving them a constantly updated stream of new products that are likely to fall in-line with their interests.
