Sitting at the intersection of fashion and technology, DENZIPFADEN is a jacket that acts like turntables when the wearer moves the zipper up and down. The work is inspired by the connection between scratching records and the scratchy noise that zippers make.

The one-of-a-kind piece was developed by fashion designer Maartje Dijkstra in her recent residency in Vienna. She worked alongside electronic music composer Newk, who was responsible for the technical aspects of the outfit and performed in it at an exhibit titled “Technosensual: Where Fashion Meets Technology.” To develop the piece, they handcrafted golden wires and resilient golden zippers.
