Postable is al design available in three sizes, which can be shipped as a regular letter and then unfolded to assemble.
Dutch designers Studio Toer have taken IKEA’s flat-pack philosophy to new heights with a table that folds down into a regular envelope, which can fit in your mailbox. Postable is a stainless steel, modular design available in three sizes: a side table, medium dinner table, and large dinner table. Even the biggest table can easily be posted in an envelope and then assembled by simply unfolding. Studio Toer decided to focus on the distribution aspect of new design as a result of changes in customer behavior and the online evolution of the retail industry. They explored the boundaries of shopping logistics:
Today people seem to be able to select their future possessions purely via the internet. By inquiring and acquiring online, no customer-salesmen interaction is taking place any more. By delivering products in your mailbox there is no need to stay home to receive it . All human interaction in gathering furniture is unnecessary in the design of the Postable.
