Czech Republic unveils a controversial gambling venue aimed at children.
Recently, a specialty casino aimed at children has opened in Prague, Czech Republic. The interior of this casino is reminiscent of the ones seen at Las Vegas, decorated with glittery lights and extravagant features. Kids can gamble using gold tokens, which can be purchased for 10 cents each. Some of the miniature casino games include roulette, poker, slot machines, and craps. The winnings can then be exchanged for prizes, like soft toys, or even a fully functional replica of a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The casino is primarily used as an amusement center for birthday parties as parents see it as a safe and controlled environment for young children. The controversial venue has received much criticism, but psychologists say that the games aren’t harmful on their own, and it all depends on family education. Many Czech parents don’t see a danger in kids gambling, and think it’s just “cute.”
