Sustainable Ice-Cream Cart Keeps Treats Cool Using The Sun
Design

This eco-friendly ice-cream cart uses solar panels to generate the electricity needed to operate the freezer, resulting in a energy-saving solution.

Design firm Springtime creates an innovative ice-cream vending cart that operates on solar energy. Produced in a joint venture with Dutch ice-cream companies IJs&Zopie and Odenwald Organics, the sustainable ice-cream cart houses a transparent photovoltaic panel in the roof that charges the vehicle’s batteries during the day. The solar panel, extendable by four telescopic supports, collects enough energy to power the freezer, resulting in a energy neutral solution. The battery can also be charged via outlet socket at night as well.
