Polychromelab’s smart jackets feature a triple-layer, waterproof, breathable fabric that offers a dual warming function. In cold weather when the black side of the jacket is facing outward, it absorbs heat from the sun and then the silver side reflects that heat back to the wearer. The jacket can also be reversed for dual functionality, and with the silver on the outside it reflects heat away from your body to keep you cooler.
Both sides of the jacket are soft and comfortable against your skin, with the fabric able to stay 2-3° cooler or warmer than other waterproof-breathable fabrics. Polychromelab has created both an Alpine jacket and a lightweight ‘Fast Forward’ jacket, with the first product being released around September, and they are currently working on additional fabrics and products.
