Simple add-on turns smartphone into a stereoscopic camera.

The 3DCone is a physical add-on for the iPhone 4 that allows mobile users to take pictures and videos in 3D. The 3DCone works with a special app that’s able to turn the smartphone into a stereoscopic camera. A mirror is carefully angled in the cone,  so two images can be shot simultaneously. The app then allows users to export pictures and videos in various formats, such as raw data, red/cyan (anaglyph) or interlaced.

The project is currently looking for funding on Kickstarter, with a goal of $55,000. With 30 days to go, the 3DCone has already raised over $3,500. Watch the video below for a demonstration of the iPhone add-on.
