GSI Outdoors‘ upcoming Commuter Java Press turns a travel mug into a portable French press, offering convenience without sacrificing quality. Gizmag reports that the double-layered mug can brew coffee as you travel, as the inner layer (with a filter on the bottom and lid on the top) slides tightly into the outside layer to create a seal that keeps the grounds in the bottom and allows their flavor to seep up into the hot water.
The two layers plus a foam sleeve on the outside offer good insulation, ensuring the coffee stays warm for longer. The 15 fl oz Commuter Java Press will be available in Spring 2013 at a price of $19.95.
