PSFK Presents The Future Of Work

As we wrap up the third week of our month-long Future of Work series, we’re taking a look back at the topics covered as part of the Millennial Management Style, a shift in the way companies are designing internal policies and practices in order to appeal to the attitudes and expectations of a younger, digitally-savvy workforce. The top-down, closed door thinking of the past is making way for company cultures based on shared responsibility, openness and trust. These initiatives are aimed at empowering and engaging employees by enabling to them have a more direct say in the direction of the company and their careers.

PSFK readers, we want to hear from you.

As we come around the bend into our final week of our 4-week Future of Work series, we want to remind our readers that we’re still taking submissions on a number of different topics.  To win, take a look at each of the categories below and if you have an example of your own to add, then be sure share it with us. We’re keeping tabs of all the posts and the best submissions will win one of the many cool prizes we’re offering. Be sure to include the proper hashtags (see below) so that we know who you are. Stay tuned because next week we’ll be announcing the fourth and final theme in our Future of Work Series.

How are Companies Spurring Innovation?

PSFK is asking readers to tell us how your employer is encouraging you to bring your ideas to the table. Is it free coffee and doughnuts or a half day to pursue your own interests? Drop us a line and tell us what ways companies are encouraging their employees to champion their own ideas.

Tweet us at @psfk with the hashtags #FoW #OpenIdeas, for a chance to win 5lbs of coffee to get your ideas started everyday.

Are You Able To Maintain A Healthy Work/Life Balance?

PSFK is asking readers to tell us how you maintain a healthy balance between work and the rest of your life. Do make an effort not to check your email after office hours? Does your employer take care of your dry cleaning and pack your kids their lunches while you work on your Powerpoint decks? If you mange to pull off a healthy work/life combo, then please share your methods with us and the rest of our readers.

Tweet us your work/life balance strategies to @psfk with the hashtags #FoW #WorkBalance, for a chance to win one half of the relaxation equation – an Amazon Kindle Touch. Add a warm beach or  hammock (or both) and, before you know it, you’re relaxing like professional. Best part is, not many people know you can check your email with the Kindle, so you won’t be expected to do any work while you’re busy taking it easy.

Can Digital Tools Help ‘ReHumanize’ Workplace Interaction?

What have you seen as companies create strategies for improving communication? Has the shift to digital platforms made workplace interaction easier? Are there aspects that you’d like to see fixed?

Please tweet us your thoughts and ideas to @psfk with the hashtags #FoW #DigitalMGMT, for a chance to win a remote control quadrocopter to help put some power back in your hands and put the fun back into hovering.

Over the next 4 weeks we want to start a conversation around what you see as possible in the Future of Work.  Be sure to follow the conversation on PSFK and participate in the daily competitions. Tweet us your ideas to @psfk using #FoW
