A Dissection Of What We Eat & Sound Inspiration For Art [PechaKucha]

Today on our stroll through the PechaKucha archives we uncover a presentation on where our food comes from, what that means, and more.

Presentations
In Paula Alasad Asbell‘s presentation (from PKN Williamsburg Vol. 2), “sound mind” is not a reference to a psychological state, but refers instead to the source of the inspiration for her art: her favorite music and musicians. Tomas Popp uses his presentation (in Czech, from PKN Plzen Vol. 1) to take a closer look at what we eat, where it comes from, and how it affects us all.

Posters
We have two new posters on the Tumblr blog today, starting with PKN Portsmouth Vol. 12’s “Earth” poster you see above, which continues this year’s themed series (the previous two were for “Air” and “Fire“). The other poster is for PKN Louisville Vol. 9.

Photos
Here’s a photo gallery [Flickr] for the recent PKN San Sebastian Vol. 10 (also known as PKN Donostia). Above, a look at the very happy crowd.

Calendar
Here’s what you can look forward to this weekend, starting with tonight’s (September 21) events: PKN Lucerne Vol. 5, PKN Vancouver Vol. 23, PKN Gisborne Vol. 10, and PKN London Vol. 8, which is part of this week’s Lond Design Festival. On Saturday we have PKN Taipei Vol. 21, PKN Tallinn Vol. 5, PKN Hjorring Vol. 1, PKN Geneva Vol. 8, and PKN Lausanne Vol. 10, and then on Sunday it’s PKN Kyoto Vol. 8.
