Intricate Line Drawings & Redesigned Traffic Signs [PechaKucha]
In today's stroll through the PechaKucha archives, we uncover a great presentation on developing a new font for urban travelers, and more.
Jiri Toman is a young graphic artist, and in his presentation (in Czech, from PKN Usti nad Labem Vol. 2) he talks about his diploma project. He completely redesigned traffic signs, and designed a special font. He also shares his other typographic work.
We have four new posters on the Tumblr blog today, starting with PKN Bari Vol. 1 (pictured above). You’ll also find posters for tonight’s PKN Bratislava Vol. 20, PKN Bogota Vol. 9, and PKN Aalen Vol. 12.
How’s this for a great event report, courtesy of PKN Singapore organizer Jon Siegel (on the recent Vol. 5): “One of our audience members [Bernie Quah], without us noticing, illustrated every speaker that night along with notes and posted it to Issuu.”
It’s a big Thursday (September 20), with the following 10 PKNs on tap: PKN Maastricht Vol. 15, PKN Blue Mountains Vol. 3, PKN Miami Vol. 17, PKN Hamptons Vol. 1, PKN Valencia Vol. 14, PKN Winnipeg Vol. 11, PKN Whangarei Vol. 14, PKN Malaga Vol. 1, PKN Aarhus Vol. 14, and PKN Bratislava Vol. 20. Tomorrow, you’ll find the following 3 events: PKN Lucerne Vol. 5, PKN Vancouver Vol. 23, and PKN Gisborne Vol. 10.
