To accompany the opening of the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, as well as his sold-out 8 day concert series, Jay-Z has created an original YouTube channel, “Jay-Z’s Life and Times.” The final night of the concert series will be broadcast on the channel this Saturday at 9:30 pm EST.
The channel accompanies the website of the same name, which was launched in 2011. The launch of the online channel follows a popular trend, according to Ad Age, which reported last month that 100+ channels have launched, 20 of which have a million views per week and 25 who have more than 100,000 subscribers. YouTube is spending a record $200 million in advertising the feature, and it seems to be working.
So, instead of standing in line at Barclays this weekend, enjoy the concert from the comfort of your home.
