Popcorn brand Pop Secret’s proposed movie party app combines sites like Facebook and Netflix for a more community-minded movie watching experience. Co.Create reports that ‘PopOver’ was created by the agency Deutsch LA during a movie hackathon as part of the 2012 Film Independent Forum, where it was awarded 1st prize.

The host-your-own movie party, the app lets users invite their Facebook friends over to watch a film. It integrates the functionality of Facebook events with direct movie-buying from sites such as Netflix and Amazon. You can limit the number of RSVPs depending on the capacity of your living room, collectively vote for what movie to watch, and friends can volunteer to bring drinks and snacks to the party.
