Hugh Turvey is the artist in residence at the British Institute of Radiology, who has peeked inside Christmas presents before they’re opened. In his latest project, Turvey creates colored x-ray images of popular gifts  after they have been wrapped. Images include a wine hamper, teddy bear, slippers, and a bracelet.

Turvey isn’t new to x-ray, and has been working with the technology for over two decades. He is known for creating intriguing artworks that are developed by putting ordinary objects through the machine. Turvey adds that, “I have been working with x-ray for over 20 years and never get tired of seeing things I shouldn’t.”
