Speaking at PSFK CONFERENCE SAN FRANCISCO, Eric Ryan discussed some of the new strategies developed in the past year at method. As a developing company that has experienced record growth, Ryan focused on how the company has maintained momentum and consistency. Under the principle of ‘the bigger you get, the smaller you need to act,’ the company is working to preserve the ‘weirdness’ and quirkiness that defines its brand image.
Some major accomplishments over the past year include a design collaboration with fashion designer Orla Keily, as well as bottles produced from recycled discarded plastic collected from beaches by method employees. The brand has also released a series of new creative material, designed as TV style advertisements released over the internet. Finally the company was sold over the past year to a capital group committed to sustainability, which is an important step in bringing method into competition with the larger well established brands.
