The ‘Social Drive’ feature of new Fiat models keeps drivers connected to social media, while keeping their eyes on the road.

Brazilian creative agency AgenciaClick Isobar has developed a new feature to make the Fiat car brand simultaneously more social and safer to drive.

The Fiat Social Drive feature, which is being integrated into the new Punto model cars, is a hands-free connection to social media while driving. By connecting drivers’ cars with their various social media accounts like Facebook and Twitter, drivers are able to access updates and information using a button on the steering wheel and voice command. The feature allows users to hear updates and new messages without taking their hands off the wheel or their eyes off the road.

Users can sync the system with their chosen social media friends and never feel out-of-the-loop again. So far, users’ love of social media connectivity is showing through, as sales of the car rose 96% within a month of the marketing feature being introduced. Hopefully, the feature will also tangibly raise the level of safety on the roads.
