Second screens are becoming more ingrained in the TV viewing experience, and to highlight the changes cable operators must make to incorporate second screens, ESPN will now embed instant replays of college football games on Twitter. The experience is ideal for mobile devices, so if you’re not watching the game on TV but just following along through social media, you’ll be able to keep up with the game and watch the highlights at the same time.
The NYTimes reports that Twitter in partnership with ESPN and Ford will provide the embedded video replays from football games in tweets, which will be available without needing to leave the site and promoted by both ESPN and Ford. They will start with a short promo clip for the Ford Fusion, and will be selected by ESPN’s college football editors.
