The DLabHook is a small device for stores that triggers product demonstration videos on a digital display when an item is taken off the rack. Currently being tested at women’s retailer TuTuanna, teamLab‘s device attaches to the end of a rack and uses sensors to detect when a customer picks up a product. Photos of a model wearing that particular item are then shown on the screen to help shoppers decide whether they want to buy it.
The device also enables retailers to track how many times the items have been picked up, enabling store employees to understand how customers interact with products and helping inform display decisions based on popularity. Take a look at DigInfo‘s video below to find out more:
