Photographer Wes Naman takes interesting pictures of people for his ‘Scotch Tape Series’. Instead of a normal portrait, he applies the sticky tape to his subjects’ faces to obscure and stretch them in weird ways.

The tape makes their faces bulge and contract at odd angles, making them look as if they’ve had some other-worldly plastic surgery. Some of his male and female subjects look sinister while others just look bizarre.

Wired reports that Naman got the idea for the series while wrapping Christmas presents in his studio with his assistant, who “randomly put a piece of scotch tape on her nose and pulled it into an awkward position”.
