Honda debuted a new small SUV called the Urban Utility Concept at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Honda announced that a version of this vehicle will be produced as a global market vehicle soon. The UUC is another new small sized SUV shown in Detroit in 2013 signaling an opportunity to customers still looking for a ‘tall car’ vehicle but one that is more efficient. The Urban Utility Concept is smaller than the CR-V and will likely be targeted to younger buyers in a similar way to their subcompact Fit.

The exterior styling in particular offers a clue to where Honda might go with other vehicles in this range. The recently redesigned Civic underwent a rapid refresh after the styling was met with a cool reception. The Urban Utility Vehicle shows a renewed attention to simple lines and well resolved details.
