The launch will support the city's thriving technology industry and hopefully continue employment growth.

Mayor Bloomberg has launched the ‘We Are Made in NY‘ initiative to help promote the city’s technology startups and show their benefit to the economy.
The multi-platform initiative includes a website bringing together resources to help entrepreneurs and attract new startups to New York City. It features a map of employment opportunities with over 900 local startups that are currently hiring for more than 3,000 jobs.
There will also be an ad campaign highlighting Made in NY tech companies on subways and buses, and an expansion of the ‘Made in NY’ logo program beyond the film and television industry. Mayor Bloomberg said:
Growing our local tech industry is an important part of our economic development strategy to bring new businesses to our city and more jobs opportunities to New Yorkers. The city offers the ideal location for talented people with ground-breaking ideas to start their companies, and the ‘We Are Made in NY’ initiative is the latest step we’re taking to help them grow here.
