Agency Hires Interns Based Only On Brand Ideas For Twinkies

Campbell Mithun will hire its Lucky 13 interns by examining their plans for taking the iconic company into the future.

Minneapolis-based ad agency Campbell Mithun will hire its ‘Lucky 13‘ summer interns by asking for their ideas on how to best re-engage the Twinkies brand with consumers. The agency, which created the brand’s ‘Where’s the cream filling?’ ads, is asking for these applications as the brand is going to be auctioned due to bankruptcy on March 13th.

The online internship application process opened at the beginning of this month and the deadline is March 29th. Interns will be hired in three discipline areas: account leadership, media strategy, and media negotiations.

Applicants will be required to submit a resume, a ‘Dear Campbell Mithun, hire me because…’ note, a ‘Dear new owners of Twinkies’ statement, and a URL address for their Twinkies recommendation.

The finalists will be invited to the agency for in-person interviews or interviewed via Skype, and Campbell Mithun will publicly share their Twinkies recommendations. Intern selections will be announced in April, which coincides with Campbell Mithun’s 80th anniversary.
