Etsy is testing a new platform where professional buyers for retailers can discover and connect with artists, designers, and vendors. ‘Etsy Wholesale‘, which is launching in beta, will be inviting selected vendors who are experienced in wholesale to offer their unique goods for sale in retail stores.

Etsy has been collaborating with retailers such as West Elm and their next major retail partner is Nordstrom, who has signed on to be a buyer on Etsy Wholesale. Selected Etsy vendors will be featured in their stores, with their unique crafts and designs allowing Nordstrom to offer one-of-a-kind pieces and bring local character to stores.

This ‘Etsy & Nordstrom Present’ collaboration is a great opportunity for the vendors to have their items in stores and also gives others a chance to find out what it takes to do wholesale with a major retailer. The long-term goal is for lots of professional buyers to have the Etsy Wholesale platform at their fingertips, so they can browse a wide variety of unique products and choose to offer a selection in their stores.
