To celebrate the magazine’s 90th anniversary, TIME has released a video that traces some of its most important and memorable cover designs from the past 90 years. The magazine first hit newsstands back in 1923, but the cover didn’t feature its iconic red border until a few years later.

As well as the video, TIME has created a special gallery of 90 covers that encapsulate world history so far, a historical breakdown of which celebrities and showbiz stars have graced the cover over the years, and a poll that asks visitors to vote for the cheesiest TIME cover ever.
