The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf and GTI was unveiled at the 2013 New York Auto Show with a 2-minute pop culture timeline augmented reality video. Projected over a fabric covered 2015 Golf, the video is an ode to how the Golf has changed with the times. See if you can catch the Nintendo, Matrix and Ipod references.

In addition to the eye-catching NYC reveal, the Golf won the coveted 2013 World Car of the Year award at the show. Click through the images to see more views of the new model.
