Bompas & Parr was founded by Sam Bompas and Harry Parr who specialize in creating art using food. Recently, the British duo created a small tornado in a glass casing using whisky mist. The installation is part of the Feed Your Mind: The King’s Festival of Food and Ideas in London.
The spinning effect is created using powerful humidifiers and negative air pressure. Visitors can inhale the whisky mist through a straw and the airy beverage can actually make you drunk. Bompas & Parr issued a statement that. “Inhaling the Whisky Tornado will intoxicate as the alcohol is absorbed through the lungs and straight into the blood, bypassing your liver.”

Bompas explains the installation as:
It’s a metaphor for ‘the impact the Scottish weather has on flavour formation in whisky. Sunlight, temperature, rainfall and humidity all contribute to the distinctive aromatics found in the spirit.
