Selfridges will offer a variety of collaborations on products paying tribute to the music legend.
The celebration of David Bowie continues in London. The newest iteration? Celebrating his unique, and sometimes shocking, style.
Earlier this month, Selfridges, a UK department store, opened pop-up shops in their stores dubbed ‘David Bowie is All Yours’.
The pop-up shops, which were created in collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum’s recent tribute exhibit to the renowned performer, will feature exclusive products that commemorate Bowie’s work and unique style. The museum exhibit, which was recently featured on PSFK, will contribute t-shirts, books, and prints that are currently being sold at the museum’s gift shop.
For a more tailored Bowie-touch, the pop-ups will offer a vintage fashion collection inspired by Bowie and developed by Decades, an L.A. shop. Additionally, designers associated with other Selfridges’s collections, such as Alexander McQueen, will offer up select pieces meant to reflect Bowie’s style.
Bowie’s colorful makeup and costume faces not to be forgotten, Selfridges is also collaborating with cosmetics company Illamasqua to provide customers makeovers, tips, and classes.
The exhibit at the Victoria and Albert Museum, as well as the Bowie pop-up shops, come on the heels of the March release of Bowie’s first album in more than a decade, ‘The Next Day’ – which has been well received at the top of the charts.
