Most dog lovers wonder about their pets while they’re away from the house or while they’re at work. Now dog owners can keep track of their pets’ activities with FitBark, a new product that just launched its Kickstarter campaign.

According to the company’s Kickstarter page, FitBark started as a project to check on their dog and make sure he was being walked. The project turned into a product that lets dog owners monitor how active their pets are.

With FitBark, dog owners can get updates on their canines’ activity level or BarkScore any time and anywhere via the Fitbark device, the FitBark home base, and the iOS FitBark mobile app.

The FitBark device, which looks like a small bone,¬†fits into most standard collars and can be attached easily using rubber bands that come with the package. The device tracks the dog’s movements and transfers that data to the FitBark server through the home base or the owner’s smartphone. Owners also get a glimpse of their dogs’ activity trends via visual reports and graphs.

The FitBark mobile app also allows owners to invite other caretakers or owners into the pack so they can monitor the dog’s activities as well. Of course, other pack member’s privacy settings can have limitations as set by the main owner.

The home base allows any dog wearing a FitBark device to sync up data to the server. The settings can be configured to allow only selected dogs to sync up.
