Google Play, the movies and TV app, is making it easier for viewers to find out more about films, TV shows and the actors involved. The app has a new feature called “info cards” that show information about any film or show being watched on an Android tablet. All users have to do is press pause and the info card will appear on the screen. The info cards contain information about the movie or show, the actors, and even the official soundtrack. The info card disappears as soon as the viewer resumes watching. When watching movies or shows using the app, users can also tap on the actor’s face and info about the actor will pop up.

The information found on the info cards is similar to what you get when doing a Google search since the cards are made possible with Knowledge Graph, which is responsible for the success of Google’s search engine results.

According to Google Play’s product manager, Ben Serridge, hundreds of movies in Google Play will have these info cards and they will be added to more movies each day. Currently, the info card feature is only available to US users with tablets running on Android 4.0 and higher, but Google is working to roll it out in more devices and countries soon.
