Japan-based fans of the Iron Man movies will have a lot to look forward to when the third installment debuts in Nagoya this month since the movie will be the first film to be shown in 4DX format in the country.
The 4DX format treats movie goers to special sensory effects like blowing winds, fog, tilting seats, and scents when watching a film.
Selected theaters that will be showing the movie in 4DX are those belonging to the Korona World group, which plans to play at least 12 films a year in 4DX.
The format was first used in 2009 with the movie Avatar in South Korea, where the CJ Group, the company that developed the 4DX system, is based. The format is already being used in other countries like China, Thailand, Russia, Israel, Mexico and several South American countries.
According to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, the company is working to bring the 4DX system to the United States this year.
