Could Viewer’s Attention Span For Ads Be Increasing?

Advertising

Top ranking videos on YouTube are all longer than the traditional idea of a good video advertisement.

The Top 10 ads on YouTube for March 2013 all seem to buck the trend when it comes to what works for advertising. That’s because of all the ads in the Top 10, none of them are 30 seconds long, only one is 60 seconds long and the rest all run for much longer than that.

Some of the ads which reached the Top 10 include offerings from Adidas, Samsung and EA Sports. Unfortunately, none of these were any match for the Pepsi test drive advert (shown below) which racked up more views than any of the previous chart topping ads of 2012 have in their entire time since being on YouTube.

Here’s another one of the Top 10 ads from the Anti-Defamation League, the first non-profit to ever make the list.
