Online marketplace eBay has revealed that it will be coming out with a giant touchscreen store this summer. The company confirmed that it has partnered with retailer Kate Spade Saturday in New York for this digital pop-up shop.
This partnership is part of the e-commerce company’s strategies to bring their company closer to consumers by creating offline purchasing options to shoppers.
Prior to this touchscreen store window project, the company and its online payment facility business PayPal have already partnered with several offline businesses as part of its move to be involved in offline retail.
Last year, eBay launched its ‘shoppable storefront’ concept, which features products with QR codes that shoppers can scan using the eBay app.
The lifesize digital touchscreen store window is another opportunity for eBay to jump off from its offline retail success and for them to dive in even further into the growing trend of mobile shopping.
