A unique technique allows this artist to bring a much greater sense of depth and color to her work.

Iris Scott‘s finger painting technique has brought new life to her oil paintings and was only discovered after running into a problem with one of her normal oil paintings.

Wanting to make an adjustment to some yellow flowers, she could only find brushes stained blue and didn’t want to clean them. Instead, she used her fingers to fix the flowers, which gave her a flash of inspiration and led to her current method of painting – done entirely with her fingers and a pair of surgical gloves.

Fans of Iris have pointed out that her technique gives her paintings a greater sense of movement, color and texture when compared with the traditional way of doing things.
