Everyone has heard of hot yoga – where you stand in a 105 degree room and stretch and sweat out the day’s stresses – but with summer coming, The Hotel Wilshire in Los Angeles thought to offer its guest something a bit different. Instead of hot yoga, the boutique hotel will be offering refreshing aqua yoga classes in conjunction with luxury yoga clothier, Lululemon.

Wilshire Hotel pool

According to Hotel Chatter, The Wilshire will begin offering aqua yoga in its rooftop lap pool in May, as well popup Lululemon stores and classes from the store’s ambassadors. The program is part of Kimpton Hotels‘ (parent group of The Wilshire) new launch of yoga amenities across its boutique accommodations.

Going on vacation, or even worse, a business trip can wreak havoc on your workout routine, so Kimpton is providing every room with a complimentary yoga mat, on-demand yoga channel and yoga room service, with extra towels, flavored waters and antioxidant snacks available by request. The hotel group is encouraging individualized yoga programs at each of its hotels, hence the aqua yoga available at The Wilshire but all the hotels will focuses on bringing a bit of healthy activity to its guests. Says Mike DeFrino, executive vice president of hotel operations at Kimpton:

We’re not yoga experts. Some of us can’t even touch our toes. But we think that incorporating exercise in the form of something like stretches or pushups are a good idea on the road. If a guest rolls out the mat and decides to take a nap or have a glass of wine and watch TV, no judgment from us.
