The ScoreCleaner Notes app turns any melody into written musical notation that can be shared. It was developed by Sven Emtell as part of his computer engineering master’s degree project at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, along with Sven Ahlbäck, a professor at Stockholm Music University.
Users don’t need to know how to read or write music. After they sing or play a melody into their phone’s microphone, the key, tempo, time, and musical notation of that melody pops up on the screen. It is also shareable through email or social media.
The app, which is available worldwide, has been one of the best-selling apps in Sweden for the last several months and has been adopted by professional musicians and elementary school music programs. You can check out the ScoreCleaner Notes app in the video below:
