Coffivity supports the research that shows creative tasks are more easily accomplished with a bit of background noise

Coffitivity is a website that mimics the sounds of your favorite coffee shop – a sound that recent research suggests is just enough noise to stimulate creativity.

The website aims to bring the sound of the coffee shop to you, whether that’s at home or in your office. By doing so, you’ll be able to be at your most creative regardless of where you are – no need to drag your laptop down to the local coffee shop everyday of the week at least.

The website is best used for creative tasks that require an element of thinking outside the box. If you’re aim is to focus on something more taxing such as proofreading a paper, or actually doing your taxes – then quieter surroundings are the best way to go.

Since its a launch on March 4, the website’s traffic has grown at an impressive rate. Some of the cities sending the most traffic to the site are Seoul, South Korea, New York City and London.

The team behind Coffivity is currently in the process of creating an app to make the experience more accessible on mobile devices. They’re also recording soundtracks tailored to specific countries, after finding out that Australians can’t stand the sound of American accents, as well as the fact there is a lot of demand from niche communities.

So if you’re in need of a creativity boost, why not take a look at the website and see if it helps.
