Barcelona-based designer Alex Trochut created a series of nocturnal portraits that show two separate images in the light and dark. After becoming interested in the duality that could be represented in one piece of work, Trochut invented a process where different images appear on one surface depending on the lighting conditions.

Binary Prints Reveal Different DJ Personas At Night [Pics]

Binary Prints‘ is a collaboration with electronic musicians including James Murphy, Caribou, Four Tet, Damian Lazarus, Acid Pauli, John Talabot, Lucy and others. The portraits explore the people behind the music and reflect their vision of their work and identity.

They reveal more in the dark than when viewed in the light, just as the DJs “come alive” at night. Click through to see a selection of the portraits:
