Swarovski has commissioned a structure to mark the 20th anniversary of Zaha Hadid‘s first major built project, the Fire Station at Vitra Campus in Weil am Rhein, Germany. ‘Prima’ is a celebratory installation created by Hadid that consists of five components.

The angular piece is highly polished and can be moved into different configurations. Installed in front of the Vitra Fire Station, it provides seating for visitors and is illuminated with LEDs at night.

Using the advanced design and manufacturing technologies available today, the facets of ‘Prima’ are a direct translation of the dynamic 2D lines and planes on the canvas.

The installation will be showcased from June 12th to August 11th and can be viewed as part of the public architectural tours. Click through to see images of Hadid’s installation:
