A design studio based in Los Angeles, USA, has recently launched a social projet called Know Your Palms. The guerrilla-style campaign aims to build awareness around the popular trees in Palms, West L.A.
Commonstudio has strategically pinned posters on various palm trees around the neighborhood, which help passers-by identify the most common palms including the Queen Palm, the Date Palm and the Fan Palm.
The flyers come with a perforated card that can be torn off to help pedestrians share their new knowledge with friends. Commonstudio describes Know Your Palms as an “unsanctioned public relations campaign for the cities’ voiceless vegetative inhabitants.” Users can help spread the word by using the hashtag #knowyourpalms on social media networks.
