Artomatic is collaborating with artists, designers, creative agencies to create a uniquely crafted publication in which each issue is composed of physical things.
UK print shop Artomatic has recently announced the launch of a new publication about (and composed of) physical objects and their place in today’s digital world. Each issue of the publication, appropriately called Container, will feature exclusive objects created specifically for that issue’s theme and that are manufactured in the UK, in a collaborative process between the contributors and Artomatic. The container that houses the objects will also be uniquely designed for each issue.
The first issue, Container#1-Hot & Cold, will be available to 200 lucky recipients, and contains objects from ad agency Mother, graphic designer Malcolm Garrett and design consultancy Accept & Proceed, among others. In this issue, objects will range from pine wood burners to a ruler to disposable forks.
Finding a place to celebrate materiality in the digital age is not new territory for Artomatic; the print shop has collaborated with artists and designers to explore the possibilities of print production since 1982.
