Design Miami Basel 2013 recently presented the Verbier mountain climbers exhibition, a collection of vintage ski gondolas that have been altered into a set of imaginative ideas from seven of Switzerland’s most recognized designers and artists.

One of the more creative pieces – brought to life by Baker Wardlaw – was a giant vending machine capable of dispensing the kinds of treats you would normally find at an arcade.

Wardlaw had to dismantle the gondola’s structure, refinished the original materials, added a dispenser to make it possible to retrieve your toy, and finally, filled it with all the trinkets you would expect to find in a traditional vending machine.

The display itself was conceived and managed by three young entrepreneurs from Geneva – Inès Flammarion, Nicolas Bernheim and Albert Schrurs.
