Typography Memory Game Lets Players Test Their Font Knowledge
The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over The Lazy Dog will teach you how to talk about typefaces with any graphic designer
Typography enthusiasts will be glad to hear there is an enjoyable way to develop their typeface knowledge.
The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over The Lazy Dog is a game that features 25 different typefaces for you to learn. It’s based on the premise of matching two cards (which display the letter “A”) that use the same typeface. The player who matches the highest number of cards by the end, wins the game.
Each card features a few snippets of typographic information as well, with a separate folder that goes a little bit deeper into the history of the typeface. An ideal way to learn how to hold your own in a conversation amongst typographers, graphic designers and other visual artists who know their Helvetica from their Groteska.
Some of the typefaces used in the game include Akzidenz Grotesk, Baskerville, Centaur, Garamond, Helvetica Rockwell, Times New Roman and Univers. While that may mean very little to you at this point, buying the game is a surefire way to alleviate that pain point.
The game was assembled and designed by the Brazilian design studio, ps.2 arquitetura + design.
