Miniature mobile parks make it easy to share a piece of greenery with the community

Ross Brooks

If you happen to live in an area where there is a distinct lack of local green space, then this set of bike-mounted parks could be just what you need to get your daily dose of nature.

Known as the “Parkcycle Swarm,” the idea was conceived by John Bela of Rebar Group and Till Wolfer of N55. The project aims to explore the possibilities of the public sculpture, while at the same time raising awareness around cycle-power and the importance of urban greenery by making it something everyone can participate in.

People are invited to cycle the mobile green space throughout the city, a concept that can be applied to any urban area in need of a little bit more greenery.

Parkcycle was specially commissioned for PARTICIPATE: Baku Public Art Festival 2013, and produced by YARAT Contemporary Art Organization – the festival runs until september 17th in the capital of Azerbaijan.
