Australia-based Ian Silva has created an entire fictional nation called the Koana Islands, complete with intricately-drawn maps, state flags, baseball leagues and an upcoming national language. After working on the project for several years, he shared it on Reddit in a thread asking what users like to do for fun.

Silva, who has the username ParisHL, told the community about his nation and posted a number of links. There are maps for the whole area and the fictional cities including Megopolis (the capital), Conneaut, Embleton and Bayside, as well as network maps for the transportation.

The Koana Islands (pronounced Co-AHNAH Islands) is made up of 32 islands situated in the Indian Ocean, near to Australia and Madagascar. Silva is currently in the process of learning how to construct a language for the nation, which will be a mix of Old Norse and English.
