After arriving in the city seven years ago, documentarian Paul Sahner started capturing various New York City neighborhoods on his blog, NYC Grid. Among all the lovely images and videos, “Before & After” is one of the most interesting features of the site which recreates archival images from the Library of Congress using Sahner’s own photos of the same spot today.
Pictured above is Wall Street circa, 1917 spliced together with an image of how the financial mecca appears in 2013. Many of the photographs include a slider that lets you seamlessly glide between before and after, and the results are impressive. If you haven’t yet had a chance to visit NYC Grid, it’s a good time to start exploring with the gallery below featuring Park Avenue, the Manhattan Bridge and Grand Central Station.
