PSFK And Jawbone Announce The Connect UP Design Contest

PSFK and Jawbone are challenging young creatives to make a communication ecosystem that imagines the future of connected home living.

  • 11 august 2013

As part of our Future of Home Living exhibit and accompanying report PSFK Labs would like to invite you, our readers, to take part in an open design challenge in collaboration with Jawbone and UP® product. UP® is a system that takes a holistic approach to a healthy lifestyle. The wristband tracks your sleep and movement in the background. The app displays your data, lets you add things like meals and mood, and delivers insights that keep you moving forward. The Connect UP contest will ask hackers, designers and developers to imagine how the host of internet-enabled products featured in our exhibition – including the Jawbone’s line of devices – can be connected to make our lives both in and outside our homes more engaging, entertaining and enjoyable.

Similar to previous contests we’ve hosted with The Climate Reality Project and alongside our Future of Work report, this contest looks to jumpstart the future with innovative designs, platforms and scenarios from leading thinkers in the marketplace. We’re excited to be partnering with Jawbone, who for or the past decade has envisioned, developed and designed products that look to enable products that track and showcase information, as well as seamlessly integrate into users’ lives and alongside their needs. With your help, we hope to roll up our sleeves and work towards making our vision outlined in the Future of Home Living exhibition and report a little closer to becoming a reality.

Sign-up for the competition has closed, but click here to vote on the finalists and winners and get all of the contest information.
